How To Get "Strings" For Beans

There are three distinct components that render an event a memorable success: great venue, good food and top entertainment. In other words a complete sensory success!  Top entertainment you say? How is that possible with my budget? What if I told you that you could book a chamber orchestra at your event for around $500 or less?  Well you can!  Last year my company was contracted to plan a high profile, swanky event and the client wanted a string quartet but only had "beans" to pay. Assuring them that it would not be a problem I contacted the Department of Music at the University of Maryland in College Park.  Two days later I visited the campus and was blown away by the talent of the students in this particular class.  It didn't hurt that I already knew talented string players and was confident that I could contact them to play at a discounted rate in addition to the students.

Needless to say the client was pleased and they continue to use the services of this chamber orchestra for their events.  This was in fact a marked success thanks to an active imagination and creative thinking, both of which are absolutely FREE.  As we approach events season I hope that this bit of information will help you in your planning.
